Are you ready for Paso Robles Harvest Wine Weekend? This is one of our favorite wine events and one not to be missed. What makes this festival so special? Well, we love the weekend because it isn’t a centralized event; each winery has it’s own list of activities and events. You’ll need to do a little research to discover where you want to go and what you want to do, but we have a short-cut for doing so. Here’s our recipe to planning a fabulous, fun and hassle-free harvest weekend:
- Select the wineries that you are most interested in visiting during the weekend;
- Check out their “Paso Robles Harvest Wine Weekend” list of activities and events on www.pasowine.com;
- Keep notes of what’s happening Fri./Sat./Sun. so that you can get in visits to all your wineries and enjoy your preferred activities;
- Calendar your activities and book your events with the wineries as required.
- Call El Colibri Hotel and Spa and book your room asap – as a plus, they are most happy to serve as your concierge and book your events for you! That’s a double-win!
Have a great Paso Robles Harvest Weekend and come to enjoy the fabulous wines of our region.

If you are interested in Central Coast wines, then get your planning book ready! As Summer winds down and we head into the Fall season, the area comes alive with festivals, fairs and many an opportunity to enjoy Central Coast wines.
To start the season off, we have “Sunset Savor the Central Coast” festival which encompasses 4 days of everything food and wine. The festival takes place September 25 – 28th, 2014. Now in it’s fourth year of operation with the main event at the historic Santa Margarita Ranch, there is something here for everyone who enjoys fine wines, great food, scenic places and good times.
Following on Savor’s heels is Paso Robles’ “Harvest Wine Weekend.” Our harvest weekend this year is October 17 – 19th, 2014. This is one of our favorite festivals because literally hundreds of mini events are happening at the wineries throughout the Paso Robles wine region. With Paso Robles being named “Wine Region of the Year” by wine enthusiast magazine in January, this year’s festivities are sure to play stellar.
At the start of November, the San Luis Wine region will be hosting their festival November 7-9th, 2014. The Edna Valley, San Luis Obispo, Arroyo Grande, and Northern Santa Maria wines will be featured. Again, buckle up because these folks know how to show case Central Coast wines …as well as throw a great party!

El Colibri Hotel Review. Thanks to a trip advisor guest for this nice review.
“Great place to stay”Easy walk to the beach, the rooms were quiet and very nice. We got a one bedroom suite and had a very comfortable night’s stay. Bathroom was very nice and the bed was awesome! This place has AC which we found to be rare at many of the hotels on the coast.Stayed August 2014, traveled as a couple
Thank-You for this recent review of El Colibri Hotel by a recent guest and trip advisor reviewer.
“Tranquil and Friendly”
Spa like setting and small (32 rooms?) hotel. Very quiet, nice cozy bedding. Our room had a sink and a fireplace and a very nice bathroom with big tub. A frig would have been nice. Hot tub… WAY too hot. Nice spa, decent breakfast with good coffee. Loved the fresh roses everywhere. Underground parking. Great location… on Moonstone drive but no view. Its super close to town (2 minutes or less). The same with restaurants on Moonstone drive. Close to Hearst Castle and Elephant seal beach as well as Cambria which is a great little town. Lots of nice dining and shopping. Something for everyone. Be sure to go up the hill to the nursery which has lots of gift shopping as well as great plants.
Room Tip: We had the double queen room on the north side. Very quiet and nice.

“Romantic little getaway ”
Love this quaint little hotel. Cute, clean & reasonably priced with free breakfast & within walking distance to the beach & the downtown. Our room was on the end, it was quiet, we kept our windows open the entire time, the cool breeze is heavenly & you can hear the waves in the distance. The room was huge with a fire place & jacuzzi tub & they put rose petals & champagne on the bed for when we arrived. No valet or bellman but didn’t expect that. Parking is easy & convenient & there’s an elevator straight to the underground garage. No restaurant but has a little wine bar with small plates. Great stay in Cambria, we loved the small town feel, very romantic.
