A short drive inland from Cambria, California you will discover the beautiful rolling hills of Paso Robles Wine County, but alas those folks in Paso do a whole lot more than make great tasting wine!
Once a year over the Memorial Day weekend, they pull out the plugs and put on one of the best art and music parties held on the Central Coast. This year the party takes place on Saturday, May 24th in the Downtown Park Square of Paso Robles from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The agenda for the day includes an outdoor fine art and sale, wet painting sale and auction, a bevy of interactive art experiences, sand master sand sculpting … and now we get to the really fun part: live music starting at 10:45 (held throughout the day), dance performances every half hour, a bar and lounge featuring all local product, and plenty of fine food from the local chefs to keep your tummy full and happy. While I’ve focused more on the music, food and beverages, I really must say that the artists represented at this event are some of the very best in the County. I hate to “name drop” – so I won’t! But rest assured you will be tantalized by the many fine works of art you will no doubt discover and yearn to take home.
Don’t miss the fun – add this one to your calendar! And, if you haven’t hotel reservations for this busy weekend be sure to give the El Colibri Hotel & Spa a call; if they can’t help you out, their kind staff will certainly offer some options for others who may have rooms available.
The 2014 Amgen Tour of California is back on the Central Coast, making several stops. The community of Monterey will be the setting for the Stage 4 start on May 14th, 2014. THE FINISH WILL BE AT THE CAMBRIA VET’S HALL 1000 MAIN ST.

An “After-Party” is planned from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Cambria Historical Museum where local restaurants and wineries will offer food and drink, and live music will be provided for entertainment. There will also be an exhibit of vintage bicycles, posters, photos and other cycling memorabilia on race day through June.
