Stewardship travel is about adding a bit of “doing good and feeling good” to your vacation. During the month of February over 70 activities have been created or identified to provide visitors with opportunities to experience stewardship travel while vacationing on the Central Coast.
One of our picks is a visit to the Piedras Blancas Light Station located just up the coast from Cambria at 15950 Cabrillo Highway, San Simeon. First lit on February 15, 1875 the manned station operated for 100 years to safely guide ships along California’s Central Coast. In 1975, the station was automated and in 2001, the station underwent a full renovation.
Tours are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings and require a reservation: call (805) 927-7361.
