Join the El Colibri Hotel and Spa and our “Welcome Spring Special” by enjoying a glass of the bubbly on us when you book any of our existing packages for a limited time. This is our way to welcome you to the Central Coast during one of the loveliest times of the year. We hope you’ll visit and explore the many natural treasures that abound in Cambria and its surrounds. Cheers!
Stewardship travel is about adding a bit of “doing good and feeling good” to your vacation. During the month of February over 70 activities have been created or identified to provide visitors with opportunities to experience stewardship travel while vacationing on the Central Coast.
One of our picks is a visit to the Piedras Blancas Light Station located just up the coast from Cambria at 15950 Cabrillo Highway, San Simeon. First lit on February 15, 1875 the manned station operated for 100 years to safely guide ships along California’s Central Coast. In 1975, the station was automated and in 2001, the station underwent a full renovation.
Tours are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings and require a reservation: call (805) 927-7361.
Come to Cambria, California in February to celebrate the first annual Coastal Discovery & Stewardship Month honoring California’s rich heritage. Learn about our nature preserves, explore the resident marine life, and participate in citizen science among other interesting activities.
Hearst Castle is always a wonderful place to visit… and, if you have yet to visit this magical castle then it absolutely is “a must.”
Imagine how Hearst and his guests felt as they lolled around by the lovely outdoor pool? The scene is so beautiful and inviting. The care and thought that Hearst took in his search for treasures to build and furnish his San Simeon home is, indeed, noteworthy.
Jill Knight is one of our favorite entertainers. She has a really wonderful soulful sound that really gets people rockin’. While usually Jill plays to much larger venues, it’s really a treat when we can get her for our wine bar guests.
This Saturday, August 3rd from 6-9pm join us in the Colibri Wine Bar for an evening with Jill Knight, delicious wines and tapas!
Recently a friend and I headed off for Robin’s “Sunday Music and Tapas.” I’ve always enjoyed dining at Robin’s: I love their fresh, local, creatively styled cuisine, that is tailored to meat eaters and vegetarians alike.
This visit was my first time eating outside in the gardens. I found myself amongst a riot of brilliant hued flowers and shrubs – absolutely magnificent: the food as well as the setting! Sipping wine, listening to live music, while enjoying delicious tapas with my friend was a perfect “10” out of 10.
