Award Winning Cerro Prieto Wines to Taste Saturday

Is there such a thing as "Serious Pleasures"?

Every Saturday we mix fun with some "serious pleasures" (a.k.a. tasting some of the finest wines available on California's Central Coast)... and this week is no exception.

We are most happy to welcome  Larry Stanton and his lovely wife Teresa, to the Colibri Wine Bar to pour their award winning wines. For your delight (and ours!) they will be pouring their NINETY TWO POINTER, whew, per the Wine Enthusiast, the famed '06 Paso Bordo. As well as their delicious '07 Paso Bordo and their '07 Merlot. Without being cagey, let me mention that this '07 Merlot was written up in the September 2010 CHEF Magazine as "One of California's 10 Marvelous Merlots". All this wonderful wine produced at their estate vineyard Cerro Prieto, in Paso Robles, California.

The Stantons are a most interesting couple. I suppose they are what you would call the original renaissance persona - interested in knowledge and learning, skilled in many areas, and successful at whatever they put their hands to. I won't tell the Stanton's many and varied stories of their interesting life here, so stop by the wine bar on Saturday, September 18 after 4 p.m. to meet them and taste their amazing wines.
