HWY 1 Finally Open to North/South Traffic!

Yahoo! Highway 1 is OPEN!

It's been a bit of a BUMMER for all us locals to have our HWY 1 closed to through traffic. Repairs, rocks, slippage, safety. I guess it's a small price to pay for the astonishing beauty accorded those who trevail this most lovely and ethereal of all coastlines. Truly, this drive from Cambria to Monterey rivals the infamous Amalfi (Italy) coastline. I've been there - and done it. Yet, this stretch of coast, and the circuitous road that leads you there and beyond, is every bit as inspiring. Replace the Lemon Groves with Iconic Redwood Groves, a bit less commercialism, and the earthiness of California - it's Positano and it's lesser known cousins 50 years ago.

If you haven't been - GO! If you have, you know what I'm talking about - so now that the road is open - Come Again!
