Top Five Reasons to Spend Thanksgiving on the Central Coast
I’m sure you know that every region in the United States has their very own holiday traditions. We’ve started to show you a few of the traditions that really make the Central Coast a special place to be during the holidays – firstly we have the awesomely creative Scarecrow Festival, not to mention our very favorite Nature Girl who is keeping us company all through the holiday season, and then we have Hospitality Night in Cambria (stayed tuned for the post coming up!) and then we have a whole lotta Christmas spectacular including some killer light displays, a chance to hang with Santa and whisper your wishes in his ear, and even the chance to spend Christmas in a Castle (Hearst Castle, that is). You’ll hear all about these things, but for right now let’s focus on what makes the Thanksgiving holiday so special here.
Here’s my top five reasons to spend the holiday season with us!
- The weather—seriously, where else boasts the sort of weather we are lucky enough to have. Warm but not too warm. Just cool and crisp enough to make you appreciate the fall but never too cold that you need to lug out your snow jacket. That’s another thing – no pesky snow to deal with. The cool ocean air and our mild climate makes sure of that.
- The food and the wine—we’ve talked about this a whole lot but where else can you go that has such a bevy of artisanal food and wine? Our delightful little Cambria hotel is located just minutes from tens if not hundreds of Paso Robles wineries. Not a drinker? Well, we even have artisanal soda, made right in Paso.
- The Harvest—along with all that delicious food and wine on the Central Coast we have some amazing harvest festivals all around town. Haven’t been to a harvest fest before? Well, we’ve got to fix that!
- The People—are the best in the world. Seriously. You’ll never find more caring, generous, and welcoming people anywhere. End of story. What’s a season of love and giving without all these people around you?
- The Getaway—sure family holidays are fun and all but haven’t you ever just wanted to get away from it all. Come and visit us at the El Colibri and we’ll make sure you don’t have anything to worry about (we’ll even promise not to bicker and whine at dinner!)
