Vina Robles Art Gallery

If you’re anything like me, wine tasting is right up there with European travel, lazy Sunday brunch, and one of those can’t put down books as one of those things you’d rather do above just about all else. I absolutely love it – I love learning about new wines, new varietals, new wineries; I love the taste of wine, the subtle hints of berries and oak; I love the story that every winemaker can tell – of how the spring season was especially wet with a long hot summer produced a riper grape with big, bold flavors.  I love learning about the stories of the winemakers – very few people get into winemaking in a direct, no-nonsense way. Most stories are complex – much like their wines. Well…I’ve got to say, the wine-tasting experience at Vina Robles winery in Paso Robles just got a whole l

ot better.

Vina Robles has one of the best art galleries in all of the Central Coast. The gallery specializes in showing art by some of the most accomplished local artists in the region. So now, when you go to their (absolutely gorgeous) tasting room, you can check out their gallery at the same time. You’ll feel like you’re getting your fill of culture and wine all in a single spot. What did I say? Genius!

The latest show features artists from the Central Coast Watercolor Society and is called the Big Water Media Show. This juried show (meaning that the artists are who showing here are really the best of the best!) was open to every Central Coast artists using watercolor and (or) water media.  In addition to the show, the winery has played host to both the three-day artist workshop and the artists’ reception.  Be sure to have a delicious taste of Vine Robles’ fine wines and take in the gorgeous water color works at the show. It’s only on for a few more days so be sure to get in before July 30.

From Cambria (and the El Colbri), all you have to do is take Highway 46 towards Paso Robles. Vina Robles is on the East side of Highway 101.
