Vine Street Christmas Lights
I’m sure you all know that street (that one street) in your neighborhood growing up that would just go all out on lights and Christmas decorations. It was the street we’d all want to go caroling at—the street that people would line up to just see the lights and spectacle. You see what happens is that one family decides they are going to be the best house in the neighborhood and this causes some major competition until all the neighbors have joined the fight for the best-decorated house on the block! What results is an incredible show—the lights, the Santa’s, the reindeer, the (fake) snow! It’s magical!
Well, when I was growing up Vine Street is Paso Robles was exactly this block. So much so that they even have an annual street closure, live music, open houses, and tons of fun! More details are available at the Downtown Paso website.
There is so much going on right now with the holidays right around the corner (and trying to fit in all the Christmas music I possibly can before my husband bans it until next….November) that it sometimes escapes me that the holidays really are about family, the generous spirit, sharing, and love. It’s always a great realization when you’ve been running around like a chicken without a head, that the holidays don’t rely on presents or money but rather on spending quality time and appreciating your loved ones.
