What Are You Doing This Weekend?
We are always on the look out for the very best of the Central Coast to recommend to our guests. Here are the El Colibri, all of the staff have a pretty good handle on the pulse of the Central Coast (that is, after all, one of the reasons why we’ve hired such outstanding individuals) but every once in a while when we’re looking for something particularly unusual, unique, or simply new, we have to look to outside sources. Our absolute favorite source to figure out what to do with our lazy Sundays or what to suggest to our guests from across the world is the SLO VCB (that’s Visitors and Conventions Bureau to those of you not in the know).
The SLO VCB has the most excellent Calendar of Events around – it includes everything that you can think of (and much more) and really doing an amazing job at showing the ingenuity and strengths of our people and companies on the Central Coast. Whether it’s a festival, a museum, a concert, or simply something new happening around town, I guarantee you’ll find it on SLO VCB. For example, right now, they’re suggesting A SLO Symphony "Pops Concert" by the Sea on September 4th, Annual Central Coast Shakespeare Festival through August 13th and the Annual Olive Festival on August 20th. Talk about awesomely cool and different things to do over the next three weeks.
What’s more, the SLO VCB sponsors some really incredible bloggers who bring the spirit and ingenuity of the Central Coast right into your computer. Check out this blog on the Finalists for the Sunset Western Wine Awards or this one on the gorgeous locations where SAVOR is hosting their events. On the whole the VCB is a great resource whether you’re coming up from LA for the weekend, on a major trek through California from far across the world, or a local simply looking for a great way to spend a weekend afternoon.
What resources to you use to help you plan on time while on vacation? Is there something else we should we on the look out for when making suggestions to our guests?
